On Monday the 5th of October 2009, the President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Klaus, promoted the Albanian edition of his book Blue Planet, Green Shackles – what is at risk: climate or freedom? published by the Albanian Institute for International Studies. On this occasion, he addressed a large panel of attendants coming from the political world, the political world, the diplomatic representations and the civil society. The main concern of the President of the Czech Republic, as he explained to the attendants, is the degree to which the political space and the political future of the democratic open societies is being constricted by massive political arguments dictating stands. Such is the case of the argument on global warming which dictates monolithic stands throughout the world. The Czech president believes that such undiscussed follow-me stands are profitable to rising alternative energy interest groups and industries.
