TIRANA, March 1 – Albania’s main opposition Democratic Party says the country’s economy is on the brink of a catastrophe as a result of alleged drug proceeds being laundered in a new construction boom and the much-rumored €1 billion public private partnership that the ruling Socialists are implementing. “The main risk is the criminalization and capture of the economy by drug and crime proceeds and the dangers it poses for the present and future of the Albanian economy,” opposition Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha said this week at a meeting with journalists as a record 613 kilos of Colombia cocaine…
