TIRANA, Jan. 23 – An estimated 8-10 percent rise in pension is expected in July of this year, including subsidies for the cost of bread and electric energy. The Finance Ministry says that this will be the second phase of pensions reform. The first phase was targeted at increasing the minimum level of pensions to 10.000 leks monthly for urban dwellers and 5.000 for rural ones. Minister Bode has explained that all due considerations about inflation rate will be included in the calculations. In monetary terms a 8 percent spike means 400 leks more for rural pensioners and 800 leks more for urban ones.
