Moisiu meets with Turkish counterpart in Ankara

ANKARA, March 5 – Albanian President Alfred Moisiu, who has been in Ankara, Turkey since beginning of the month for medical checks, has met with his Turkish counteract Ahmet Nekdet Sezer reconfirming their countries’ excellent ties considered of reciprocal interest to both countries. Moisiu also received his counterpart’s assurances that Turkey would continue to strongly lobby for Albania’s membership into NATO, hopefully at the next NATO enlargement summit next year in Washington. Both presidents also talked about Kosova and its steps toward independence.
