TIRANA, March 31 – New Tirana Frankfurt and Tirana-Munich direct flights were launched this week at the Tirana International Airport, the country’s sole international airport.

The Tirana-Frankfurt route will be operated daily by Lufthansa Airlines with an Embraer E190 aircraft, which can carry up to 94 passengers, the airport said.

“Lufthansa has been operating in Albania for 20 years now, and this prestigious airline is always welcome to open daily flights to destinations that might be of great interest to our Albanian passengers and others,” said Rolf Castro-Vasquez, the CEO of Tirana International Airport.

Alexander Tolweth, the country manager of Lufthansa Albania, said “I am confident that passengers travelling to and from Tirana will enjoy the new route as much as they did flights to Munich, especially as Frankfurt Airport connects our Albanian passengers to a large number of European and other continental destinations.”

Earlier this week, TIA launched the Tirana- Munich route which will be operated three times a week by Slovenian airline Adria Airways.
