TIRANA, June 7 – Albanian border police have seized a large haul of marijuana hidden in a vegetable truck at Port of Durres as it was waiting to board a ferry to Italy.
Nearly 705 kilograms of cannabis sativa were found hidden inside a cucumber shipment, police said.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested. Kiril Filev, 32, and the truck he was driving were both from from neighboring Macedonia.
The police said that three more people are wanted in connection with the shipment, but did not release the name of the suspects.
