TIRANA, April 18 – Albania and Kosovo have successfully concluded their participation in the first ever edition of “SEE a Paris” film festival, held from 12th to 17th April in the prestigious L’Entrepot in Paris. Albania grabbed two prizes in the festival for the best screenplay by Ylljet Alicka in the Albanian Chronicles movie directed by Artan Minarolli, and the best short fiction movie ‘First day of classes’ directed by Dionis Papdhimitri. Kosovo also won a special jury mention for its “Donkeys of the border” movie by Jeton Ahmetaj.
The public also enjoyed the screening of the short fiction from Kosovo “Gjini.”
This Festival united and presented the cultures of all 12 countries in the region: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Macedonia and Turkey under the motto: “The Balkan is the heart of Europe”.
The Festival was organized by the University of Audiovisual Arts, ESRA Paris-Skopje-New York and the Foundation Balkanika from Sofia, in partnership with the artistic team of the Parisian Entrepot.
SEE a Paris is a dedicated attempt of all the twelve South-East European countries to create a special contribution to the cultural unification of Europe as a common home.
