A number of arrests of sentenced persons

TIRANA, July 25 – Police arrested a number of persons who had been sentenced to prison terms or under investigation for different crimes, but were still at large. Police in central city of Elbasan arrested Artan Halili, 24, accused of murdering his spouse Antoneta Halili. Police learnt that Antoneta was killed and found the suspect Artan trying to flee.
Police in Berat arrested Saturday Gentian ȡko, 35, accused as the author of some crimes during 1997-2001.
Tirana police arrested Tuesday Ilir Mir襬 43, for opposing police forces and another person, a child for theft.
In Puka police arrested Monday Hamit Kasemi, 42, who worked as a private policeman. It is believed that he has stopped a car with Kosovar tourists passing by and asked them for a ‘fee’ of 5 euro.
Police in Lac arrested a person for kidnapping another one, who was also arrested after he declined to start a penal case. Nikolin Rica and Nikolin Gjergji had been friends in their village of Bushkash in Burrel but they had also a debt which broke their relationship. Police said that three other persons involved in the kidnapping had left and were at large.
In Golem, Kavaja, police arrested Gentian Daku Tuesday evening as he was sentenced to 2.5 years imprisonment for theft.
Two persons, Aleksander Hazizaj, 29, and Jani Brahimaj, 27, were arrested Tuesday in Fier while transporting with their Renault car some 170 kilogram of cannabis.
