The Dardennes seek Albanian actors

Winners of two editions of the Cannes Film Festival, Belgian brothers Luc and Jean Pierre Dardenne, have organized a competition to find Albanian actors for their latest production. This competition being run by the “Archipel 35” French Film Production Company is in search of actors and actresses who could compete for different roles in the upcoming production of the Dardenne brothers. However, apart from the conditions those interested must meet no details have been revealed in this competition regarding what this film will be about. The actors must be between 25-40 years old maximum. The languages required apart from Albanian are notions of the English language or French. “The actors competing must have experience in the theatre or cinema even if this experience is not professional,” say the conditions of the competition.
Shooting on the film for which Albanian actors are sought is expected to begin towards the end of this year in Belgium. In Kosovo actors have been informed of this decision so they can compete too. Armond Morina, an actor from Prishtina says he has sent an e-mail about this competition. “I will be competing at the audition, I am an actor and this is the work I do,” he said.
