TIRANA, May.24 – The Culture Ministries of Greece and Albania organized jointly a cultural event that brings the Albanian cinematography from Albania and Kosovo to the Greek audience with movies from the 70s up to the contemporary ones. 30 movies in total will be projected up to May 30. Artan Maku and Bujar Alimani, two movie directors have presented this project to the National Cinematography Centers in both countries and organized the event that is expected to familiarize the audience with the value of Albanian film. The movie marathon will include tow movies of Greek directors that touch upon Albanian immigrants in Greece. These will be “Mirupafshim” (Goodbye) of J. Koras and “Pengu” (Regret) of K.Janaris. The well-known scholar Abaz Hoxha will give lectures on Albanian cinema.
The film festival will be the start of projects that will gather Albanian and Greek artists in common ventures. Soon a 17-min movie, “The essence of life” will be made by Joan Zhonga and Petro Koskin and released by “Maku ltd”, whose producer is one of the organizers of the Albanian movie days.
