TIRANA, Oct.15- Weeks before the largest book event is held in Tirana, the annual book fair, Bujar Hudhri, the traditional publisher of Ismail Kadare, winner of the Man Booker Prize and Nobel candidate of past years, have announced that his publishing house will launch a series of Kadare’s work, gathered in chronological order and with some changes made by the author. The announcement included news that seven new, unpublished works will be published.
The new works are the short stories: “Provokacioni” (Provocation), ” Leximi I Hamletit” (Reading Hamlet), ” Bisede per diamantet ne pasditen e dhjetorit” (Talking About Diamonds On A December Afternoon), the long prose “Djegia e Voskopojes” (The Burning Of Voskopoja), ” Sorkadhet e trembura” (The Scared Deer), ” Darka e gabuar” (The Wrong Dinner), and the complete novel ” E Hyjnueshmja” (The Divine). Kadare’s work has been translated in dozens of languages and is read worldwide.
Every book of the series will be in hardcover and have approximately 500 pages. Each volume of the series can be bought separately and will cost 1200 lek (around 10 euro). The series will be a systematic tool of education and a reference point for students of literature as it follows the chronological order of the author’s creativity.
The publishing house ‘Onufri’ led by Hudhri has published almost 50 books by Kadare in 12 years of cooperation.
