TIRANA, Jan.6- The opera season in Genoa of Italy will be opened with the noted story of chevaliers De Grieux and Manon Lescaut. The Albanian tenor Josif Gjipali will interpret the role of De Grieux. Janurary 10 will be the premiere of the great work of master Puccini, “Manon Lescaut”. Manon will be interpreted by Micaela Carosi, winner of the prestigious music critics prize “Abbiati”, Lescaut by Gabriele Viviani, Geronte byCarlo Lepore. Four important writers of theater such as Giuseppe Giacosa, Luigi Illica, Domenico Oliva and Marco Praga, the publisher Giulio Ricordi and musicians Ruggero Leoncavallo joined Puccini in order to create a new libretto for the chevalier story written by Antoine-Fran谩s Pr귯st. For Puccini this was a personal challenge which eh overcame after the major success of the Turin show on February 1, 1893. The story has a complex plot of a love story between two young people on the way to a monastery that finalizes with a tragic conclusion. The Albanian tenor will perform next in Marseille.
