Ripo comes back to Tirana
TIRANA, Feb.19- Violin player Renato Ripo returns to Tirana with a repertoire for the Albanian audience on Friday night at the Theater of Opera and Ballet. Ripo will perform with an instrument from the eighteenth century and will be accompanied by the Orchestra of the Radio Television. The program includes works by Czech composer Antonin Dvorak. Ripo began to play the violin when he was six years old and has studied in the Artistic lyceum, Jordan Misja, in Tirana. He graduated in Paris and then returned to Tirana to teach the viola in the Academy of Arts. In 1990, he moved to Greece where, for many years, he was the primary violin player in the Camerata-Orchestra of the Friends of Music. He has performed on many stages throughout the world and only retuned to Albania in 2005 for a recital concert accompanied by Greek piano player Aris Garufalis.
