On Wednesday the Albanian Film Archive celebrated the birthday of one of the finest actors of the Albanian film industry Rikard Ljarja. On this occasion a huge footage of the films he has featured in were screened for the many distinguished guests present. Ljarja has been acting over a period of five decades; more than fifty roles in films and 100 roles played on the stage of the theater is the tally of a very rich career of an artist who reached the highest summits of acting in the Albanian film industry and on the stage. Apart from acting, he also became an accomplished and successful film producer. The first film he produced was, “There is life in the snow laded forests,” (1978). This film was awarded the “Aleksander Moisiu” Prize for 1987 and won second prize in the VII Festival of Albanian Feature Films. After very warmly thanking his colleagues and the other guests, this well known and popular Albanian actor said jokingly that his birthday actually fell on April Fools Day, the first of April, but he had always celebrated it on the third of April, because that was pay dayŢ
The Remarkable Rikard Ljarja is 65 years old
