STRASBOURG, Sep 6 – Kastriot Islami, the opposition Socialist Party lawmaker, will take part in an urgent debate on the consequences of the war between Georgia and Russia. The session will be hosted by the Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
The Bureau also decided to send an ad hoc committee to visit the two countries during the week before the session to gather first hand information about the current situation and prepare proposals for possible future action.
The ad hoc committee will comprise the two Monitoring Committee rapporteurs for Georgia – MⳠE
