TIRANA, Sep 28 – President Bamir Topi said that Albania is well aware of the responsibilities that NATO membership brings, including meeting Alliance standards.
“We know that this is only the start of hard work of a contributor country, as an active and responsible member,” said Topi, after meeting the Director of the NATO Office of Security, Michael Evanoff, in Tirana last week.
Evanoff said that Albania continues to be a security leader in the Balkans and praised the country’s contributions to the fight against international terrorism, organized crime and trafficking.
Albania became a new NATO member in April this year together with Croatia.
