Albanian theatres grab four awards in Dibra festival

Albania was represented in the festival with the Metropol Theatre of Tirana and the Aleksander Moisiu theatre of Durres whose performances proved a success grabbing four prizes, including the best show, the best supporting actor, best director and best actor

TIRANA, July 6 – Ten theatrical troupes from Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia participated in a one-week Albanian theatre festival held in Dibra, Macedonia.
Albania was represented in the festival with the Metropol Theatre of Tirana and the Aleksander Moisiu theatre of Durres whose performances proved a success grabbing four prizes, including the best show, the best supporting actor, best director and best actor.
The Metropol Theatre participated in the festival with the “Pass the Butler” satirical comedy by Eric Idle. The comedy won the best part prize and the best supporting actor by young actress Cubi Metka.
“Pass the Butler” which had its premiere in Tirana last June satirizes the political system using every means to achieve power.
Meanwhile, Adelina Muca of the Aleksander Moisiu theatre won the best director prize for the “Romance ne diten e krimit” (Romance in crime day) play written by Albania’s Bashkim Hoxha.
Alfred Trebicka was another Albanian actor who grabbed the best actor prize for his starring role in Edward Albee’s “Marriage Play” directed by Dasara Xhangolli.
