Kult Academy awards prizes to best artists

TIRANA, May 30 – For the eighth year in a row, the Kult Academy has awarded prizes to the 10 best artists in visual and performing arts. In a gala ceremony held at the Academy of Arts in Tirana this week, a professional jury awarded the visual art prize to Arben Bajo for his Portrait exhibition at the FAP gallery.
The best actor award went to Taulanda Jupi for her role in The House of Bernarda Alba. Politician Ben Blushi was named the best writer for his ‘Albania’ fiction book.
Saimir Pirgu was awarded the best lyrical performer prize while pianist Elda Laro the best instrumentalist. Some 48 artists had been nominated for this year’s edition of the Kult Awards.
“When the adventure of Kult Awards started eight years ago, few people imagined we would walk this far. However, after all these years, this institution showed it works, identifying artists who contributed a year earlier and giving them appreciation,” says Ylli Sula, the President of Kult Academy.
