TIRANA, May 28 – Austria’s Salzburg Land will support the Albanian Culture Ministry develop arts and culture policies and support Albanian artists and products in international events. The cooperation protocol was signed this week in Tirana by the governor of Salzburg Land Wilfried Haslauer and Albanian Culture Minister Mirela Kumbaro.
“Art has no borders. It joins cultures and peoples. I am happy from my first visit to Albania and the cooperation. I am convinced that artists from Salzburg and Albania will be welcomed in art residences,” said Haslauer.
Austrian visual artist Georg Bernsteiner and Albanian contemporary artist Matilda Odobashi are the first two artists that have been selected for a cultural exchange project under the deal.
Meanwhile, some 21 Austrian artists will be displaying their artist-in-residence works at the Zeta gallery in Tirana. The exhibition called “Salzburg in the world – Brought along” features works created by 12 male and nine female artists created in 11 artist-in-residence projects. The exhibition will be open from May 27 to June 3.
