FIER, May. 14 – The Bylis theater in the city of Fier will host the sixth edition of the acting festival Apollon which is expected to proclaim the best theater actor and actress for 2007. Well-known theater teams from all over Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia will perform during the days of the festival. The tradition of this festival has established a serious artistic competition, according to Klajdi Marku, the organizer. The event is an opportunity for national theater to be promoted as well as for cultural tourism given the proximity of Fier to the ancient architectural site of Apollonia. As such the festival deserves closer attention from the Ministry of Culture, the organizers have said. Up until now, the municipality of Fier has been the only donor of the event. This years edition will honor with a career prize the well-known Albanian artist, Prokop Mima. The jury composed by Luiza Xhuvani, Margarita Xhepa and Kristaq Skrama and will award prizes to actors on the final night.
