TIRANA, Oct. 15 – Ten internationally renowned musicians, of whom three from Albania, will be performing in Tirana in the fourth edition of the ‘Different Trains’ classical music festival.

From Beethoven’s classicism, to the impressionism and blues rhythms of Ravel and Schuman’s absolute Romanticism or Puccini’s lyricism, and the monumental masterpieces such as Mendelssohn’s Octet and Mozart’s quintet, the festival brings a miscellaneous programme establishing a linking bridge between the artists and the public, organizers say.

One of the festival’s founder, Albania’s Dorian Xhoxhi, the first violin in the Berliner Philarmoniker Orchestra, will perform in four programs in the festival and will also give some master classes for the violinists.

Vlorent Xhafaj, an Albanian cellist at Kammerorchester Basel, Milan-based Albanian violinist Elton Tola Albanian-Greek violinist Areta Zhulla will also be performing in concerts.

Italy’s Simone Briatore, Russia’s Leonid Gorokhov and Ilya Gringolts, Peter Laul, Germany’s Martin von der Nahmer and Czech Republic Vaclav Petr complete the list of performers in this year’s edition.

Cellist Vlorent Xhafaj, one of the festival’s organizers described the inaugural 2012 edition in the centennial of Albania’s independence as a key a message of unity. “When performing at home you always have a special feeling. Considering that me, Dorian Xhoxhi or Klajdi Sahatci have not performed in Albania since we left the country to study abroad, the excitement grows stronger,” said Xhafaj.

The festival is scheduled to hold concerts both at the University of Art and the National Theatre in Tirana on October 19, 21, 23 and 26.
