The small number of Albanian fashion designers is constantly trying to make it outside their own country, by competing in the different fashion events on the world stage, an affirmation of the “Made in Albania” label. The Albanian model Emina ȵnmula hs often modeled creations of the world’s leading Fashion Houses, such as Armani, March Jacobs, Calvin KleinŮbut last week the Albanian model wore the creations of the Albanian designer, well known in her own country, Mirela Nur襮 Being one of the designers of the Autumn-Winter Season 2009, in New York Fashion Week, Nurce has won the right to be present in all the coming sessions, alongside the world’s leaders such as Versace, Chanel, Prada, Dolce&Gabbana etc. Nurce received the invitation when she had least expected it. She realized a collection in a record time, chiefly coats and raincoats, elegant jackets and dresses, inspired by Albanian folk costume motifs and they were amongst her best. In contrast to previous sessions, Nurce’s designs had less embroidery this time, more buckles, no shortage of very large collars, accentuated sleeves, cold colours of cold days, the grays, the blacks, blues, pale fawn were the predominant colours of her Winter Collection. In September, Nurce’s Spring-Summer Collection will head for New York too.
