Albania wins ILC presidency

GENEVA, May 31 – Albania been elected as the next president of the International Labor Congress.
At the voting conducted in Geneva, Switzerland for the country which will assume the presidency of the 96th session of the International Labor Congress (ILC) of the International Labor Organisation (ILO), Albania defeated the African candidate, Congo Brazzaville, with 198 to 90 votes.
Congo Brazzaville, the East African country, was nominated instead of Nigeria. The nomination was characterised by crisis and was only resolved in Geneva by the African representatives.
