Albanian history, nature featured in Portugal

The Albanian Riviera, folklore costumes from all over Albania, the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Gjirokastra and Berat and the archeological park of Apollonia are some of the pictures Tasho featured in Lisbon and Ericeira.

TIRANA, May 27 – The Albanian nature and history were featured for four days in Portugal through pictures taken by renowned Albanian photographer Roland Tasho.
The Albanian Riveriera, folklore costumes from all over Albania, the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Gjirokastra and Berat and the archeological park of Apollonia are some of the pictures Tasho featured from May 27 to 30 in two art galleries in Lisbon and Ericeira.
Tasho’s exhibition in Portugal comes after Albanian artist Saimir Strati who has set seven Guinness World Records for the largest mosaics using industrial materials, opened last March his first exhibition in Portugal. During his “Seven Star” exhibition in the Portuguese town of Ponte de Sor, Strati also created a new mosaic using corks.
Roland Tasho is also known for his photos of successful Albanian women around the world, Albanian historical sites and even pictures of ambassadors to Albania in traditional Albanian costumes.
Tasho is also famous for his albums of Albanian migrant communities in Italy, Greece, The United States and Switzerland. A well known photographer, Tasho started working as a professional photographer in 1982. After working for nearly 20 years as a photo reporter, he is now a freelance professional.
Since 1992, his photos have been displayed in more than 40 exhibitions in Albania, Italy, France, Belgium, Germany etc. He is well known for his pictures showing the collapse of the communist regime in the early 90s, the 1997 turmoil and the 1999 exodus of the Kosovo people to Albania following the armed conflict with Serbia.
