DEVOLL, Dec. 11 – An ancient cave named Treni, located in southeastern Devoll, has been threatened by destruction because of companies excavating stones from the mountain using explosives.
The Korca prefecture has stopped the work of such companies near the village of Treni because of the special historic values of the cave.
The cave will be declared a state-protected area due to its archaeological values.
Some persons have also damaged its paintings inside the cave.
During the past ten years, the area near Treni has become an important archeological site.
