TIRANA, Aug 23 – Albanian painter Saimir Strati, 42, has created “The Guitarist” mosaic, this time using cork and displaying the work at the Sheraton Hotel in Tirana.
Strati used some 300,000 corks on a banner measuring 96 square-meters, thus to secure, for the third time, a place in the Guinness World Record with the largest, three-dimensional cork mosaic ever attempted.
Work on the banner took 27 days, after which officials from the Guinness World Record will decide their verdict. (Tirana Times Staff)
