TIRANA, Oct. 31 – An art pole aimed at stimulating and promoting professional and young artists has been established at the Ten multimedia centre in Tirana. The centre, established as an initiative of the Municipality of Tirana, will establish a stable community of artists based on interaction among different art disciplines and the interweaving of ideas and projects. The Tirana art pole will be a linking bridge among employers in Albania and abroad and provide employment opportunities to young artists.
Speaking at the project’s inauguration ceremony, Tirana Mayor Lulzim Basha invited young artists to make use of this opportunity to promote their talent. “The Art Pole is first of all the infrastructure made available to young and professional artists free of charge, ” said Mayor Basha.
The Tirana Art Pole offers an art gallery, infrastructure on the projection of short films, an audio and video recording studio, and a radio station for young artists. The Pole is divided into five sections which includes music, visual and applied arts, performing arts, photography and multimedia and promotion and media relations.
The TEN multimedia centre opened in 2010, offering free afternoon classes in music, dancing, painting and photography to dozens of talented compulsory schoolchildren in Tirana. The center is situated in the former premises of the Dajti cinema in Tirana, which had been abandoned and did not serve as a cinema any longer.
The “TEN” multifunctional centre has a central hall with a capacity of 130 seats which serves as a venue to screen movies and hold concerts.
