Basha pledges zero tolerance to crime

TIRANA, Dec 7 – Interior Minister Lulzim Basha took part at the southeastern regional conference on strengthening security cooperation.
The minister repeated his government’s pledge of zero tolerance against crime and the focus of their fight against organized crime and illegal trafficking.
Albania is still a country of origin for drug and human trafficking and also considered to be a hot spot of organized crime. Fighting them remain top priorities in the country’s efforts to integration into the European Union.
Such a fight is also helping the country achieve the visa-free regime with the European Union Schengen countries which it hopes to achieve next summer.
Basha said that his government supported any initiative on strengthening dialogue and communication with other regional countries, “Ʃn order to speed up the full membership into the European Union family.”
