Best Designed Mascot For An EU Campaign For The Albanian Children

TIRANA, May 7 – European
Commission Delegation Ambassador
to Albania Helmuth Lohan
awarded Wednesday to the 13-year
old Esli Kodra the 4,000 Euro
prize for the best mascot designed
for an EU campaign dedicated to
the Albanian children.
A “National Competition for
the Design of the EU Mascot for
Children” was organized by the
Delegation of the European
Commission to Albania in the
framework of the European
Week 2008 with the aim to draw
the Albanian public’s attention
and especially that of the
younger generation on European
Union and the relations between
the EU and Albania.
This initiative complements the
series of social, cultural and political
events, that take place from 2-9
May 2008 and aims to put the EU
in direct contact with local people.

Campaign For The Albanian Children
The competition was addressed
to both design artists and
students of art schools around the
country. The best 30 works submitted
for the competition were
part of the today’s final public
exhibition organized in the Gallery
of the Academy of Fine Arts.
The second and the third prize
of the competition of 500 Euro
went respectively to Genc Permeti
and Ermal Mbrakulli.
