TIRANA, May 23 – The International Cultural Center Arbnori said Monday they had compiled a long list of activities that would be held in the context of the U.S. President George W. Bush’s visit to Albania June 10.
It will first open an exhibition with Bush’s pictures starting from his childhood, family and to the political life. It will be followed with a documentary titled “Welcome President Bush” to be broadcast by some local television stations in the capital. A 200-page book with Bush’s most conspicuous speeches and his biography will be also published.
A big advertising board 6 x 2 meters will be set in the front of the pyramid building, first built as a museum for the late communist dictator Enver Hoxha before the 1990s. The board will also have six big Albanian and U.S. flags.
Different Albanian personalities will hold speeches in the meetings held at the center on the American democracy, civilization and its role for peace and democracy in the world. Together with the public radio and television there will be broadcast five documentaries on excellent relations existing between the two countries.
The first ten best American contemporary poets will have their works exposed at the pyramid. There will also be shown a theatre for children. Bush’s visit to Albania, the first ever by an american president in the albanian land, has been considered as historic in the tiny balkan country.
