TIRANA, June 8 – Cypriot Foreign Minister, Markos Cyprianou, repeated during his recent visit to Albania that his country will not recognize an independent Kosova.
Cyprianou visited Albania last week to meet with his counterpart, Lulzim Basha, and other officials.
Meanwhile, Basha thanked Cyprus for supporting Tirana’s ambitions of becoming integrated into the European Union. Cyprus is an EU member.
Cyprus ratified the Stabilization and Association Agreement Albania signed with the EU two years ago.
During last week’s meeting, Albania and Cyprus signed an agreement on international road transport and pledged to strengthen ties in the air and sea transport.
Both countries stressed the need to increase economic cooperation and trade by also considering the opportunity for Cyprian investments now that a favorable climate and necessary legal framework has been created in Albania.
Both leaders also agreed that Albania should increase its efforts to prevent women’s commercial sexual exploitation
