TIRANA, Dec.22- The well-known movie director and first woman cinematographer, Xhanfise Keko, changed careers at 43 years old. She was born on January 1928 in Gjirokastra, and had an excellent career in directing children movies. She started her career as a mixer at the movie studio “Shqip쳩a e Re”, in 1952. After a long career in editing and documentaries she started directing movies in 1971. In the following thirteen years, until 1984, she directed 12 movies which are particularly liked by children. These movies are not only entertaining but also educational and have been seen in international competitions. These movies include “ABC…ZH” (1971), “Kryengritje n롰allat” (1972),”Mimoza llastica” (1973), “Qyteti m롩 ri n롢ot뢠(1974), “Beni ec쮠vet뢠(1975), “Tinguj lufte” (1976), “Tomka dhe shok촠e tij” (1977), “Pas gjurm췥” (1978), “Partizani i vog쬠Velo” (1980), “Kur xhirohej nj롦ilm” (1981), “Nj롶ones롥 vog쬢 (1982), “Taulanti k쳫on nj롭ot첢 (1984). In several of these movies she also did the editing and scene writing. She received the title, Artist of the Nation, in 1984. Xhanfise Keko is the first director to receive a prize in the International Movie festival for children and youngsters in Giffoni, for the movies “Beni ec쮠vet뢬 “Pas gjurm췥” and “Tomka dhe shok촠e tij”.
