TIRANA, Sept.1 – The Brazilian cinema will for the first time be introduced to the Albanian public in a special programme at the Marubi film school in Tirana. The event organized by the Brazilian embassy in Tirana which opened only last year will bring feature and short films from September 5 to 9 every evening at 7.p.m.
All films are in original language, with subtitles in English and in Albanian.
The event is co-organized by the Academy of Film & Multimedia Marubi and the Embassy of Brazil in Albania.
The Contemporary Brazilian Film Festival of Tirana is just a glimpse of a huge production. The selected works are experimental ones, provocative ways of pondering the representation of reality in such a large and diverse country such as Brazil. It is an invitation to immerse oneself into movie gaps in which each viewer connects with the film according to his personal background. Everything participates and authorizes this experience. Each small movement sensitizes, seduces. The workers leaving a factory or a kite wandering round in the air can be as expressive as a complex ballet choreography. The film is a window that frames the real space and highlights each one of those delicate pieces” organizers say.
