“Honeymoon”, Albania-Serbia Co-operation

“Honey-moon” is the first winning film selected to be financed by the National Cinematographic Centre, during last week in Tirana. “Honey-moon” is an Albanian-French-Italian and Serbian production by the Serb Producer Goran Paskaljevic and the Albanian artist Genc Permeti. Asked by a daily newspaper for details about the film Permeti said that the script avoids ethnical hatred and lashes out at sick nationalism. “The Honey-moon is about the existence of two families, one Albanian and the other Serb; two families with all their problems and woes, joys that every Balkan family has and the great wish to join Europe. Everything is suspended around the notion of expectancy. In essence this is the expectancy to join Europe,” the Albanian producer explains. Although its title is, “The Honey-Moon” and the film centres on these two families that are just setting out towards a new relationship. The Albanian story has been written by Producer Permeti, while the story of the Serbian family was written by Paskaljevic. It’s thought that fifty percent of the film will be shot on location in Albania and the other half in Serbia and Montenegro. It’s expected that it will have an Albanian cast. The National Cinematographic Centre is to accord 29.518.000 lek.
