KORCA, May 18 – Police in the southeastern city of Korca reported they had stopped two cases of illegal smuggling.
The Kontrabanda e Fundit (Last Smuggling) operation put under arrest two persons.
Vasil Nasto, 50, was arrested after found that he was transporting 5,400 kilograms of onions he had smuggled through Gorica border crossing point with the neighboring country.
In another case V. Pecoj, 36, was also arrested when police found 2,100 kilograms of apples he had also smuggled through the same border crossing point.
Police said they were continuing investigation to find other persons involved in the smuggling.
