TIRANA, Aug. 13 – Albanian world soprano, Inva Mula, is to sing this month in the role of Violeta of Traviata in Verona’s Arena.

The opera will be produced by Graham Vick and the orchestra directed by Julian Kovatschev.

Tenor Robert Aronica and baritone Ambrogio Maestri will sing alongside the Albanian soprano in the opera taking part at the annual festival which is normally attended by half a million spectators.

The opera is to be shown five times from Aug. 4-24.

“Nowadays if you are not a Barbie you cannot do anything in a world that quickly destroys any value that is not linked to the outer appearance of the individual,” Mula said in an interview to L’Arena newspaper.

Mula said that her agenda would be to continue with Le Roi d’Ys in Toulouse and Traviata also in France, then Rigoletto in Turin, Italy and Spain and also with Mireille to open the Paris Opera.
