TIRANA, May 18 – Italian entrepreneur Ippazio de Fransisco, 51, from the province of Lecce, was taken away in handcuffs in Albania after being charged with tax evasion.
The district court of Kavaja, the town in which De Fransisco had set up a tailoring business, later released de Fransisco from jail and ordered him to check in each week with police until the end of the judicial process.
According to the Kavaja prosecutor office, the Italian businessman had failed to pay taxes amounting to 6,500 Euros. (Tirana Times Staff)
