TIRANA, July 31- The charming location of the Pyramid in Tirana, one of the iconic buildings of Hoxha’s former dictatorship, still today involved in a complex project of recovery, will host the first of the five stages of the contemporary art exhibition “Art In Port – Coexistence: for a new Adriatic Koine.” Between August 2014 and March 2015, the event will involve artists from the partner countries of the exhibition: Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy (Veneto and Apulia). Working together to give voice to art, to multiply its visions, to create a narration with many voices, connected together into a large Adriatic and transmedia network, the exhibition is part of the project “arTVision, a live art channel” funded by the European IPA Adriatic CBC Programme 2007/2013, with the purpose to activate and connect the creative energy of young artists invited to participate as protagonists, organizers say.
The exhibition at the pyramid building will be on display from August 1 to 24.
“The Pyramid”, a former mausoleum of Stalinist ex-dictator Enver Hoxha, was built in 1988 to commemorate Hoxha’s 80th birthday, three years after his death.
