TIRANA, Nov. 8 – Shoura Council Chairman Abdullah Al-Asheikh made a visit to Albania at the invitation of Albanian Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli.
During his visit, Al-Asheikh met with Albanian President Bamir Topi, Prime Minister Sali Berisha and Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto, including Topalli, to discuss matters of common interests between the two countries.
Accompanying the chairman were Abdul Malik Kayal, Abdullah Muneef, Mohammed Naseef and Abdul Rahman Haijan.
Al-Asheikh also held a joint session with members of the Saudi-Albanian Parliamentary Friendship Society to familiarize himself with Albania’s parliamentary procedures and explore new areas of cooperation to strengthen parliamentary ties between the two countries.
“The invitation from the Albanian Parliament has been extended to me within the framework of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries headed by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and President Topi,” Al-Asheikh said, adding that the Kingdom was keen on strengthening bilateral relations in the fields of economy, education, culture and investment.
Being a member of the Organization of Islamic Conference, Al-Asheikh pointed out that Albania plays a predominant role not only in the Islamic world but also in Europe where the country is taking part in various international organizations to promote peaceful coexistence.
