TIRANA, Sept. 5 – The liberalization of the text production for the schools was an important step in the reform in education, according to experts. The board of text approval has already completed the nomination of texts that are to be used from the schools in the coming school year. They will all be distributed together with a stamp which shows the approval. The Ministry of Education undertook the reform of liberalization of the texts in another step toward the European standards based on a government decision last March. That was different from what happened before when there were a limited number of texts and publishing houses for them. The Ministry is no longer the only publisher for them trying to get rid of such a monopoly and the corruption that had accompanied that. Now it is up to the teacher to select the text published and written by any author offered in the market. The reform also means that the subsiding funding will not go anymore to the publishing house but to those who use such texts. All texts that are offered should accomplish some required standards, including the technical details and the price.
