TIRANA, March 4- The French library of Saint-Herblain will reproduce digitally stone works of the Albanian painter and dissident, Maks Velo form one decade earlier. Lithography is a methodic that uses techniques of medieval Gutenberg studios. The process works in a group and Velo realized the works while visiting Nante in 1996 when Nancy Sulmont invited artists which skills at the technique to realize some works. Velo has done 21 works of this nature from Petit Jaunais, the atelier of Sulmont assembled together with Jean-Fran谩s Assi鮠The artists asked Velo to publish these works in the book “Maks Velo Nantes 96” for the publications “Le Petit jaunais”, and the collection “Les volants” for which very few rare copies are printed. In total Velo will have 18 expensive copies. For Maks Velo, who says it is easy for hi to work in stone just as in paper the technique is special for it brings the chemistry of black to the medium of stone through the hand techniques. The motifs of the work are again based on the experience with the dictatorship. (Tirana Times Staff)
