Theater launches premiere of 2008: “Frank V” directed by Arben Kumbaro

TIRANA, March 4- The National theatre presented to the media the work in prices ‘Frank V’ a musical comedy by the Swiss play writer Friedrich Durrenmatt, directed by Arben Kumbaro. The first premiere of this year is a special production as a grotesque comedy with musical elements. Kumbaro is connected to this work since it has directed it in the ‘Migjeni’ theater of Shkodra, during the democratic transition start. This time the play comes to the audience in an entirely different context with the performance of actors such as Fatos Sela, Yllka Mujo, Luiza Xhuvani, Bujar Asqeriu, etc. “Frank V” was first staged in 1960. Friedrich Durrenmatt (1921- 1990), just like Bertold Brecht, studied the dramatic effects of epic theater, without Brecht’s political implications but presenting a pragmatic view on life. For Arben Kumbaro this is the second time to direct a play with a large troupe of actors after the drama “Rr촨aja” of David Edgar in2002. (Tirana Times Staff)
