TIRANA, June 26 – Teams from throughout Albania successfully completed a weekend of filmmaking in the fifth edition of the Tirana 48 Hour Film Festival. “Films were due on 22 June and the last few minutes before the deadline saw filmmakers, operating on little sleep and lots of adrenaline, rushing to get their films in on time, organizers said on their website.
All of the films that were submitted on Sunday night will screen on June 28, at 19.30 at the National Theatre in Tirana.
Filmmakers from all over Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia and Diaspora competed to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world.
The 48-hour film festival featured problems in Albania, and the echo that different social problems leave in our mentality. “We will not only bring success but also export culture, we will produce films which will be exported abroad and promoted in 81 countries of the globe,” says the festival’s organizer Robert Aliaj.
The 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which teams make a movieطrite, shoot, edit and score itةn just 48 hours. “On Friday night, you get a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in your movie. 48 hours later, the movie must be complete. Then it will show at a local theater, usually in the next week.”
