Tirana between the World Wars in an exhibition

TIRANA, Dec. 18 – Tirana just after the country’s independence and its history during the World Wars are being featured in an exhibition at the TEN multimedia centre in Tirana. The exhibition organized by the Municipality of Tirana features Tirana, which became the country’s capital in 1920, in 30 pictures and a documentary.
Italian architects designed major public buildings and squares in Albania from 1925 to 1943. In Tirana, Italian planners and architects designed the main square named after the national hero Skanderbeg, the central boulevard, the ministry buildings, the national bank and the town hall.
Situated in the premises of the former Dajti cinema TEN multimedia centre opened in 2010, offering free afternoon classes in music, dancing, painting and photography to dozens of talented compulsory schoolchildren in Tirana.
The recently launched The Tirana Art Pole offers an art gallery, infrastructure on the projection of short films, an audio and video recording studio, and a radio station for young artists. The Pole is divided into five sections which includes music, visual and applied arts, performing arts, photography and multimedia and promotion and media relations.
