Tirana Municipality awards 2007 notable figures

TIRANA, Dec.30- the municipality of the capital awarded prizes to the most notable figures of Tirana for 2007, after a survey conducted online since the beginning of December 2007. Kongoli, Flloko, Frash쳩, Ko詬are names among the 10 personalities from different fields that were selected to be honored as special citizens.
The gala show was hosted by Mayor Edi Rama according to whom the event aims at becoming a tradition of recognizing the special achievements of people of arts, culture and sports that have given special contributions to the life of other citizens. Simple citizens were also among the honored. The first to receive a prize was Bexhet Bashllari, who has devoted time and efforts to build a park and plant trees for the community in which he lived. The Kika family was also honored for donating land in Selita for the purposes of building a school. The notable names of arts included actor Timo Flloko for an excellent performance in the play “View form the bridge” and writer Fatos Kongoli for an impressive collection of books. A prize has been awarded to translator of books from German, Afrim Ko詮 The historian Kristo frasheri has been awarded a prize for resisting the political pressures to compromise history. Prizes were given to sports woman Ana Qendro, and OBG doctor Halim Kosova.
