TIRANA, March 28 – The U.S. Embassy in Tirana announced that it is working to identify alternative travel options for the repatriation of U.S. citizens in Albania, due to the suspension of flights to Istanbul on Saturday.
The U.S. Embassy urged all citizens who wish to depart Albania to contact the Embassy by sending their information to ACSTirana@state.gov. All citizens will be notified if travel options become available, but in any case they need to be prepared to depart Albania on a short notice.
On Wednesday, the Embassy called on all U.S. citizens who wanted to leave Albania to immediately arrange a flight through Istanbul with Air Albania. However, all flights from TIA were later suspended on Saturday, following Turkey’s cancellation of international flights.
