Valentina Leskaj joins AIIS Executive Board

TIRANA, Aug. 31, 2022 – The Albanian Institute for International Studies (AIIS) has welcomed as a new member of its Executive Board, Valentina Leskaj, former deputy speaker of the Albanian parliament and longtime Member of the Parliament for the Socialist Party.

Mrs. Leskaj comes from an extensive and consolidate political and public contribution having served in addition to the previously mentioned roles also as Minister for Labor and Social Affairs and having represented Albania in the international arena at the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe and Political Affairs Committee.

In 2020, Valentina Leskaj was elected to the Advisory Board of the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM).

During her time as MP she has chaired numerous Parliamentary Commissions.

Mrs. Leskaj has been active also in civil society particularly in the field of human rights and gender equality. She is the author of the book “Politics as Idea.”

AIIS, one of the most prestigious think tanks in Albania, has been consistently ranked among the best in Southern and Eastern Europe by the University of Pennsylvania in its annual global think tanks’ index.
