TIRANA, April 3 – A massive fire overtook Tirana’s Siri Kodra Str. Tuesday night at around 7.30pm, when a warehouse filled with electric appliances exploded.
Inhabitants in the area were the first to be evacuated, no one being wounded in the process, yet the material damages of the fire are reported to be big by the police, judging by the clouds of fire still hanging over Tirana’s sky Wednesday morning.
Police said it has been difficult to make an exact damage report, as the electrical appliances inside the warehouse are significantly dangerous and have continued exploding, making firefighters’ job at the scene difficult.
An investigative group has been set up to properly identify the reasons behind the massive fire by interrogating the warehouse guards, eye-witnesses and the area’s inhabitants.
