BERAT, Aug. 15 – A fire sparked in a food storage place in Berat quarter of Mangalem threatened to cause significant damage and other consequences but firefighters rushed to the scene. Fire broke out in the afternoon at the depots of Bujar and Shpetim Hoxha. Employees were still at the depot and helped to extinguish the fire. Police investigation afterward concluded the fire was caused by a defect in the electrical network. Depot owners said the financial damage was heavy. Local residents at the quarter with traditional buildings are concerned about the lack of fire prevention capacities at their area.
