HIMARA, Aug. 16 – Local government authorities in the southwestern small town of Himara said Wednesday that the recent quakes had caused some 15 million leks of damage to the residents’ houses. The preliminary figure comes a week of a chain of shakes that not only frightened local residents but also pulled away thousands of tourists sheltered in Himara and other smaller villages along the Riviera coastline. A group of experts would make the correct calculation and then ask authorities help residents repair them. Two tents have raised in Himara for temporary shelter of two families whose houses in Pilur were made a danger to stay in. the shakes in Aug. 6 and 8 damaged some 100 houses in Kudh쳬 Pilur, Vuno and Himara.
